The global GeoLeaf namespace (undefined before boot completes).
🛑 The | undefined is a DELIBERATE CHOICE, not an oversight.
The motive: the namespace does not exist before the bundle has run. Declaring
it present-holding-undefined is more true than GeoLeaf?:, which would suggest
an optional property of an existing object.
What it costs an integrator: a typed read of the global must say that it runs
after the bundle — a guard, an optional chain, or a local declaration of the booted
global. The arbitration was rendered on 17/08/2026: KEEP — the alternative, removing
the | undefined, is an ambient asserting a presence the boot does not guarantee.
What it no longer costs this repository (08/10/2026): the documentation's typed
examples used to fail on their first word — one frozen diagnostic per file, none saying
anything about the example. They are now compiled as what they are, code of a page
whose bundle has run (scripts/typecheck-docs-examples.cjs). The declaration below is
unchanged by that: it is the harness's reading, not the ambient's.
